The Asia Pacific Consortium on Osteoporosis (APCO) has always strived to develop tangible solutions to the substantive challenges involving osteoporosis management and fracture prevention in this most populated and fastest-growing region of the world. We are proud to thus announce the APCO Singapore Osteoporosis and Other Metabolic Bone Disorders Summit (APCO SOOMBODS) 2024. It will be held from 17 to 19 May 2024 at the modern and centrally located Novotel on Stevens Singapore.
The 3-day summit will comprise an IOF-ISCD Osteoporosis Essentials (OE) Course and the Metabolic Bone Disorders Symposium (Main Congress). The OE course will occur on 17 May 2024 for 1.5 days and will be followed by the Main Congress on 18 May 2024 till 19 May 2024. This niche, unique and one-of -its kind congress will provide a conducive atmosphere for participants to interact with a globally renowned faculty as well as among themselves.
The IOF-ISCD Osteoporosis Essentials Course (Clinicians Track) is an initiative jointly developed by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and the International Society for Clinical Densitometry and is aimed at providing comprehensive information on the principles of bone densitometry and the evaluation and management of osteoporosis and is helmed by expert faculty from various disciplines including Endocrinology, Rheumatology and Nuclear Medicine. It will be useful for all healthcare practitioners including specialists, general practitioners, nurses, technologists, and other allied healthcare professionals working in the bone health field. The Metabolic Bone Disorders symposium (Main Congress) will be dedicated to the discussion and presentation of several metabolic bone diseases including osteoporosis, as well as rare genetic skeletal disorders in both children and adults. The lectures will be given by Internationally Acclaimed Bone Health Specialists such as Prof Jean Yves Reginster, Prof Manju Chandran, Prof Eugene McCloskey, Prof Claus-C. Glüer, Prof Peter Ebeling, Prof Ambrish Mithal, Prof Didier Hans and many more. Clinicians / Trainees from the disciplines of Adult and Pediatric Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Internal Medicine, Orthopaedics, Geriatrics, etc. will benefit the most from this 1.5-day congress. The deadline for Abstract Submission is 15 March 2024 and attendees whose abstracts are accepted will be notified by 22 March 2024. All accepted abstracts will be scheduled in a poster presentation, the best 4 posters will be shortlisted for oral presentations on Day 1 of the Main Congress (18 May 2024).
